Abstract
This paper presents the design of a unit-cell of alphabet shaped slot-loaded Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) Reflectarray at 12 GHz. Four shapes of slot-loaded structure are etched under the DRA. These slots act as parasitic elements to tune the phase reflection of the unit-cells. The four different alphabet shape´s slot, which is H, U, E and C shape were investigated in terms of phase and insertion loss. C-shaped slot-loaded has been chosen to be implemented as unit-cell of reflectarray due to low loss and acceptable phase variation. In the end, the design of the overall DRA reflectarray is described and the radiation pattern shows that the antenna can operate at broadside radiation at 12 GHz.
