Abstract
This paper presents instrumentation and interfacing between microcontroller and sensors/actuator for Roll-to-Roll system. Load cell, edge sensor and brake are commonly used sensors and actuator in the system. However, additional sensor calibration and linearization are required for mechatronic integration of the system. An experimental study was carried out to outline sensor characteristics before and after the signal conditioning. The sensors and actuator were linearized using straight line fitting and Taylor series expansion. Experimental results are illustrated and examined to be working.
