Abstract :
This paper proposes user identification using face recognition to provide customized service to users in sports simulator applications. Face recognition still has presented challenging problems in the real world environment which are to recognize face image of low quality acquired by long distance and illumination variation. It is very difficult to get high reliability in the recognition result with distorted face image as mentioned above. In this paper, some of the well-known face recognition methods to be applied to sports simulator have been investigated. Also, a multi-preprocessing method for recognizing face image has proposed which is a novel innovation to assure high recognition reliability in sports simulator applications.
