Abstract :
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) production is universally accepted as the most energy efficient means of producing electricity. Absorption chillers can help to increase the performance of the cogeneration plants. Trigeneration or combined cooling heat and power (CCHP) systems are based upon CHP systems coupled to absorption chillers fired with heat produced in cogeneration. The paper presents an analysis of the parameters which influence the primary energy saving (fuel) obtained in the case of the trigeneration comparative with the separate production of the heat, cooling and power.
