Abstract :
In order to enhance the quality of underwater acoustic communication, it is often used matching layer technique to improve the bandwidth performance of the transducer, But it is not easy to find the appropriate matching layer material because of no suitable material in nature, most of which is got by artificial synthesis and keeping it with an acoustic uniformity is also a painful task. An approach is given by Using PMMA/Aluminum (Al) composites head to improve the transmitting performance of the transducer. Using the finite element method, two types of the PMMA/Al composite head Langevin transducers are studied, including the vibration modes of the transducers in air and the transmitting voltage response of the transducers in water Influenced by the change of the geometry and material parameters of the composite head. The finite element results show that the transducer bandwidth is significantly increased by using the new structure of the radiation head.
