Abstract :
Modified dual carrier modulation (MDCM) is introduced to enhance performance of WiMedia UWB system whereas hardware complexity soars exponentially due to the increased dimension of constellation. This paper proposes an efficient combined demapping scheme to offer partial soft-decision for MDCM while few related work is available. Compared with previous work, the proposed method demonstrates roughly 1.5dB gain at BER of 10-6 and significant decrease in computation complexity.
