Abstract
Four wave mixing (FWM) crosstalk degrades the optical signal transmission characteristics of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system significantly. Characteristics of FWM are closely related to frequency allocations of channels. In this article we have found suitable frequency locations of the unequal spaced channels by taking two parameters-channel number and minimum channel spacing. The proposed method provides a fast and simple solution to the channel allocation problem for any value of channel number and channel spacing. It also able to find new appropriate channel locations directly without changing old channel locations if the channel number is need to be increased that ultimately reduces time complexity, minimizes suppression efficiency of FWM and the total optical bandwidth requirement.
