Abstract :
The 26th International Conference on VLSI Design and the 12th International Conference on Embedded Systems was held in Pune, India. The theme for this years´ conference is Green Technologies - a new era for Electronics. This theme is very appropriate for the times. With the explosion of connected devices driving higher network traffic and massive cloud computing, the electronics industry is the fastest growing consumer of energy. If left unchecked, the electronics industry could potentially be one of the worst offenders of our environment, perhaps even more than transportation or heavy industry. Alternate energy sources and efficient use of energy in both electronics as well as other sectors is no longer a nice to have, it is an imperative. I look forward to paper presentations, invited talks and keynotes that provided insight into latest technology research on how to tackle this growing challenge. Further like each year in the past, the VLSI Society of India is delighted to be able to continue our highly successful student and academic Fellowship Program that funds the participation of several deserving students and academicians from across the country to further our goal for excellence in education in VLSI Design and related areas.
