Abstract :
As we all know, the technology of data management system has already been mature in many fields, however, it´s still very difficult to make it apply to the development of the seafloor observation network which has its own features. The observation device that seabed produces large amounts of data every day and it has a variety of data formats. A kind of data management system for seafloor observatory network is designed in this paper. The overall system design, metadata definition and data storage design are presented. The particularity of the system is taken into consideration in the design process. The data management system which designed in this paper has already been applied to a seafloor observatory network. The design method of the system will play an important role in the information construction of the long-term seafloor observation network.
