Abstract :
A new three-phase dc-dc PWM boost converter is proposed in the paper. The proposed converter can operate with ZVS due to a simple auxiliary circuit that consists of just a single active switch and a few passive components and transfers energy through the three phase path with zero voltage switching (ZVS) capability with minimal electromagnetic noises. The number of components in the proposed circuit is reduced compared to previous proposed converters of the same type, resulting in lower cost and lower conduction losses. The paper presents the new converter then discusses its operation, steady-state characteristics and design. Experimental results obtained from a 1kW converter prototype are presented to validate the converter´s performance and the concepts presented in the paper.
