Abstract
This paper presents a single-stage AC-to-DC power converter is consisted mainly an interleaved two-transformer active-clamp forward converter. By utilizing two separate transformers, the proposed converter allows high power density design and the output power can be shared by two transformers, moreover, the complementary switches provide interleaved output inductor currents for diminish the current ripple in output capacitors. In addition, a discontinuous conduction mode boost-type power factor corrector based on the voltage-follower control, it helps reduce the volume of the boost inductor and easier to achieve high power factor. Experiment results have been verified over an input voltage 115 Vac and an output of 19 V/140 W, at a maximum efficiency of 86% and a maximum power factor of 0.99.
