Abstract
The Integrated Asset Planning (IAP) process was designed to ensure that there was ongoing alignment between asset strategy and operational teams. Within United Utilities (UU), IAP is the asset planning process for the short, medium and long term. This paper discusses the background behind IAP and its risk-based decision making approach. Two case studies, focusing on defining cross-disciplinary issues and implementing solutions respectively, demonstrate IAP in action.
