Abstract :
This paper presents a Step Recovery Diode (SRD) based Pulse Generator (PG) suitable for Ultra Wideband (UWB) applications. Sensitivity analysis on the PG is performed to optimize the SRD key parameters. The design generates a 200 ps duration pulse with a Power Spectral Density (PSD) of -30.5 dBm. The generated pulse suites wireless network applications such as wireless sensors networks (WSN). The design utilizes off-the-shelf components, which is the key factor in cost reduction of the generator.
