Abstract :
Feature selection is an important step in a computer-assisted chromosome detection and classification system. Different types of chromosome features can be investigated. These features are often joined together to produce an initial feature vector. A feature selection process is applied to remove the redundant features and generate a small and optimal feature vector. Then the chromosomes can be classified by this feature vector. This paper is focused on feature selection algorithms. Many algorithms are investigated. The principle and the realization of these algorithms are analyzed.
