  • Abstract
    In this paper we present a parallel approach for radiation propagation simulation using Monte Carlo technique. Our work focuses on developing techniques of parallelization and optimization of Monte Carlo simulation algorithms specific to the CBEA-based clusters. The results of the first attempts of developing a parallel Monte Carlo simulation for photon propagation are presented in this paper. These experiments showed us encouraging results, the compute power of PowerXCell8i processor demonstrating again its potential, and the advantages of IBM Roadrunner architecture.
