Abstract :
There are two main directions covered by the LIT activity in JINR. The first is the development and maintenance of the JINR basic computing and informational facilities (high-speed telecommunication channels, hardware and its underlying system software having at top the local JINR Grid segment). The second deals with the mathematical support of the experimental and theoretical research conducted by JINR. The present paper provides a bird´s eye view on the first direction.
