  • Abstract
Requirement of low-cost, low-maintenance, robust electrical motors has resulted in the emergence of the AC Induction Motor as the industry leader. For reliability and maintenance concerns, Sensor less speed control has become popular. The purpose of this article is to study the speed estimation techniques for the field oriented control of Induction machine. MRAS technique along with the Popov´s hyper stability is used to estimate the speed. MRAS identification is performed with two methods based on rotor flux and Reactive Power as the state variables. Performance of Induction motor with rotor flux based indirect vector control utilizing the estimated speed is observed using both the estimation techniques.
