Netsys 2013: Message from Conference Chairs

This is the First Conference on Networked Systems (NetSys 2013), which is sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, Gesellschaft fuer Informatik (GI) and Informationstechnische Gesellschaft im VDE (ITG). This biennial conference is the successor of the conference series Kommunikation in Verteilten Systemen (KiVS), which was started more than 30 years ago and was considered the major scientific event in German-speaking countries in the field of communications and distributed systems. While similar in scope, its successor NetSys 2013 serves as an international forum for all aspects on networked systems. The conference papers were selected by a strict review process that involved 33 TPC members. Each paper was assigned for review to three TPC members. Most of them also attended personally at the TPC meeting at University of Stuttgart on November 8, 2012. There, we selected 16 out of the 51 submissions for presentation at the 5 technical sessions of the conference and inclusion into the conference proceedings.
