Abstract
The aim of this research is to explore the service status of specialist nurses in informatics, and to investigate the opinions of nursing staff in Taiwanese medical facilities to the necessary professional abilities within the career scope of nursing. This study was conducted with a cross-sectional design. Questionnaire for medical institutions: total of 141 copies were released to nursing staff and nursing supervisors. Results: (1) The establishment of a draft for the role standardization of informatics nurses in Taiwan. (2) Suggested planning of the functional role of the informatics nurse. (3) Recommendations for the certification of professional nurse competency: it is hoped that the certifications of informatics nurses in Taiwan can be recognized internationally.
