Abstract :
MIL-STD-1553B protocol is widely used in military platforms; it supports reliable real-time short message communication in harsh physical and electromagnetic environment. However, it is very inefficient when transmit non-real-time large file. Some researches have tried to improve the performance of MIL-STD-1553B bus, but few attentions were paid to this problem. In this paper, a novel method was introduced to improve the efficiency when transmitting a large file. To verify the effectiveness of the method, a new 1553B bus protocol IP core was designed and implemented. In addition, related simulation and debugging work was performed. Experiments were also carried out to test its functionality and performance. The experiment results showed that the system can accord with the standard 1553B protocol and get better performance when processing large files.
