Abstract :
This paper describes a MIDI synthesizer system using the TMS320C6748 Digital Signal Processor. The system consists of a MIDI controller keyboard, a OMAP L138 eXperimenters kit and an audio amplifier stage. The MIDI keyboard controls the system, activating the synthesizer engine residing in the DSP. This engine synthesizes the sounds and enables the special musical effects. A detailed description of the synthesizer engine will be provided.
