Abstract :
This paper describes the development of versatile data logger capable to acquire 0-10 V and 4-20 mA analogue signals and store on micro SD card, which is formatted into FAT file system. Two versions of data logger designs are developed - first solution consists of separate integrated circuits, second - contains single microcontroller capable to run same functions. Both projects are compared by various factors, like design complexity, energy consumption and economical aspect. The data logger´s firmware functions are presented and development of corresponding software is discussed.
