Abstract :
On 31 March 2014, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Washington, D.C., passed a federal standard (final rule) intended to help keep drivers from running over small children as they back up their vehicles. By May 2018, all new cars and light trucks must be equipped with rearview cameras. The final rule applies to all new vehicles under 10,000 lb gross vehicle weight, including passenger vehicles, buses, and trucks [1].
