Abstract :
The properties of optical fiber Rayleigh scatter are reviewed from the perspective of high resolution, high sensitivity OFDR measurements. The statistical properties of single mode fiber are reviewed as well as Rayleigh scatter properties of PM fiber and erbium-doped fiber-optic amplifiers.
