  • Abstract
    The world is getting modernized and industrialized day by day. As a result vehicles and engines are increasing. But energy sources used in these engines are limited and decreasing gradually. This situation leads to seek Jatropha biodiesel as an alternative fuel for diesel engine. This paper investigates the properties of jatropha biodiesel fuel with their different percentage of blending with diesel fuel and its compared with diesel fuel. Experimental testing conducted on the single cylinder four stroke compression ignition engine. The performance of the engine using blends and jatropha oil was evaluated and compared with the performance obtained with diesel. The blending for testing selected such as JBD10%, JBD20%, JBD30%, JBD40% and JBD50%. And load may be varied from 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% for testing purpose. The Significant performance parameters of C.I. engine selected as brake specific fuel consumption, fuel consumption, brake power, brake thermal efficiency and Exhaust gas temperature are observed and compared with diesel engine performance parameters with same.
