Abstract :
The hydrodynamics of a gas-solid fluidized bed are studied experimentally using fine and nano particles with aid of external force. The bed dynamics namely, pressure drop across the bed, the minimum and maximum heights of the expanded bed in terms of bed expansion / fluctuation ratio bed and fluidization quality are determined by varying different system parametrs to compare results of fine and nano particles. Arrangement of external force application for nano fluidization is found to be a better option because of which nano particles could fluidize as fine particles.
