  • Abstract
    In the present work, a pneumatic circuit is designed for process automation of a Friction Stud Welding machine. The process parameters such as rotational speed, friction time, friction pressure, forging time and forging pressure are controlled by means of a PIC 16F877 micro controller. Implementation of microcontroller provides cost effective solution for efficient and effective control of friction welding process parameters. Microcontroller based Friction Stud Welding machine is eco friendly and it can weld similar or dissimilar materials without smoke, slag, flux or gas.
