Abstract
The estimation of network parameters is essential for estimating the status of the power system. Even a single error in power system considerably affects the estimated states. The Residual Analysis method is implemented for the estimation of network parameters. The Normalized Residual analysis is basically used for finding out any error present in the network parameters, like incorrect branch parameter and incorrect transformer tap position. Further, the incorrect parameters are detected and improved using the residual analysis method. The performance of this method has been examined using the IEEE 14 Bus system.
