Abstract
We describe a new generation of high performance quadrifilar helix antennas built for space application. The new generation has implemented a cost effective way to allow for easy modification of the helices to adapt to different radiation requirements. In addition the developed antenna has minimized the risk for passive intermodulation (PIM) and improved the thermal and structural properties. As an additional feature for use together with the antennas, an external 3 dB coupler unit has been developed.
