Abstract :
In this paper, a multiple frequency resonance antenna is developed based on a composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) resonance principle. The antenna has been designed by cascading three left-handed (LH) metamaterial (MTM) unit-cells along one-axis that acts as a radiating element and fed to a trident-shaped feed. The characteristics of antenna structure on three different types of ground planes have been studied. The results show that the ground plane plays an important role to achieve matching between expected resonances from the unit cell analysis with the antennas resonance.
