Abstract :
A simple and reliable procedure for electromagnetic (EM) simulation-based antenna design exploiting adaptive response correction (ARC) is described. ARC-enhanced coarse-discretization EM simulations serve as a cheap representation (surrogate) of the high-fidelity EM model of the antenna structure under design. The surrogate is used to iteratively predict the optimum design at a low CPU cost. Two antenna design cases are demonstrated. In both cases, the optimized design is obtained at a low computational cost corresponding to a few high-fidelity simulations of the antenna structure under consideration.
