Abstract :
This paper presents a novel alternative to achieve a circularly polarized patch antenna with low axial ratio in a large beamwidth. In order to improve the AR in beamwidth of a typical patch antenna two square rings have been included in the ground plane. Simulation results presented in this work show return loss bandwidth upper than 6.38% (S11 <; -20 dB). Axial ratio lower than 4 dB between -90°<;θ<;90° in XZ and YZ planes has been got.
