Abstract
This paper presents a concept for a dual polarised slotted waveguide antenna to be used for satellite based wind scatterometer antennas. The antenna is based on horizontally polarised slots waveguides in the narrow side of rectangular waveguides, standing next to ridge waveguides with vertically polarised slots. Instead of the usual arrangement with a coupling waveguide that distributes the RF power to the radiating waveguides, a barline network is used, providing significant advantages in terms of volume, mass, possible excitation coefficients and thermal stability.
