Abstract :
This work presents an investigation into uncertainty in the far-field measurement using different microstrip patch antennas as electromagnetic interference (EMI) sensors. The measurement is done for vertical and horizontal polarizations. Laboratory measured antenna factor is used. Ideally the strength of radiated field at a point in far-field should be same. It is verified using different EMI sensors. Although there is an average uncertainty of 2-6 dB found in the measurement using rectangular and circular patch antennas in the two polarizations. The uncertainty is introduced in the measurement which is associated with different receiving antennas and determination and application of antenna factor.
