  • Abstract
Biomedical signal-based control technique has the application significance for human-machine interface. Within the biomedical signals, sEMG (surface Electromyograph) reflects the muscle activity which includes the intension of movement. In this study, the characteristic of sEMG during the wrist turning gestures was investigated. The ultimate purpose is to realize an automatic online MP3 player control system based on the extracted sEMG features. There are totally three channels of sEMG recorded simultaneously. The raw data is preprocessed by filters in order to remove the artifacts. The integrated EMG is calculated for each 1s data segment. The obtained integrated EMG is transmitted to MP3 control command based on a defined logic. The function of music play was realized successfully. The presented automatic sEMG-based control system has high accuracy and is easy to operate.
