Abstract
Mobile health (m-health) is a general term for mobile devices that are used in healthcare, and according to the recent development in this field, innovative medical applications have been developed to be used on tablets. This trend has seen the light recently and it is aiming at becoming an integrated part of medical solutions. A novel medical application intended for android tablets is proposed in this paper. The main purpose of our m-health application is facilitating doctors´ tasks by generating an ubiquitous information system. To achieve this, we have based our application on an open source operating system, “android”, and web services technologies. Indeed, our application is characterized by functioning in a minimal space disk as we will record and get access to the needed resources via a wireless access ensuring the integrity and the security of the transferred data. As the android operating system increases in popularity, flexibility and distribution; it will play an important role in our new developed mobile health model.
