Abstract :
Many legacy systems use message oriented middleware to communicate between themselves. Message oriented middleware are considered to be the most effective technology for enterprise integration. There are a lot of proprietary middleware solutions in the market that involve huge licensing costs, difficult maintenance procedures and niche skill sets. The usage of open source middleware to replace these proprietary solutions in a cost effective manner is an idea that can now bear fruition due to the relative maturity of such solutions. The use of open source reduces licensing cost, enables the developers to have greater insight into the working of the system and avail of the wide spread community support for such systems.
