Abstract :
This paper presents the design and simulation of hybrid rectangular printed strip monopole dielectric resonator antenna (HRPSMDRA) for ultra wideband communication systems. The designed HRPSMDRA is analyzed and optimized using power modeling software CST Microwave Studio ®. The designed HRPSMDRA assembly consists of hybridizing an annular hexagon dielectric resonator (DR) with a rectangular printed strip monopole antenna. The combination effect of three radiators produces multiple resonances frequency and provides 120% ultra wideband (UWB) of 10dB return loss impedance bandwidth centered at 11.8 GHz, making this antenna suitable for UWB applications. The designed HRPSMDRA provide an average gain of 4.82 dBi with the far-field radiation characteristics appears to be satisfied within the operating bandwidth.
