Abstract :
The demonstration of an optical multi-Gbps board-to-board interconnection is presented consisting of 12 parallel FPGA-based high speed links with 8.5 Gbps. The optical interconnection is realized by novel 3D fiber-matrix connectors including multi mode ribbon-fiber bundles. The performance of the interconnection is evaluated with regard to optical properties, scalability and power consumption.
