Abstract :
The power of disk based storage systems has been becoming an increasingly problem in commercial domains. The work in this paper proposed several hardware based approaches and software based approaches for saving disk power consumption by making use of a lot of techniques. In this paper, such technology are described in details. We summarize energy conservation research of disk drives at home and abroad and analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of relevant technology respectively.
