Abstract :
We develop a novel approach to energy-efficient transmissions with arbitrary packet arrival process and strict delay constraints. It is shown that this seemingly difficult problem can be formulated as a convex optimization program. Relying on the specific structure of the optimality conditions, we put forth an efficient algorithm to find the optimal rate control policy.
