Abstract
This paper presents a method to analyze the generated gases from decomposition of the insulation oil in power transformer, based on Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) through a developed prototype that can adapt on the Buchholz relay. The combination used of NIR spectroscopy and multivariate calibration has allowed for obtaining information over the samples. This method can be used as an important tool for on-line monitoring of the operational conditions in order to prevent catastrophic failure and minimize outages in the power transformers.
