Abstract :
In this study, a conceptual study was performed for the development of a leisure boat simulator used for operation training. The aim of this work was to secure the basic operational capability of a leisure boat as a simulated driving device for a general novice operator. We generated the conceptual design of a leisure boat simulator to bring about the proficient navigation of leisure boats and efficient training for maritime traffic orders. We also performed a sea trial test utilizing a powerboat in order to develop a mathematical model for it based on six degrees of freedom (DOF) movement. In future research, the development of sea trial measurement systems, a six DOF motion-based mathematical model for a powerboat, a hardware interface and operation program for simulator development, and scenarios for training will be studied, thereby generating a leisure boat simulator.
