  • Abstract
Considering the multi-anticipatory behavior, an new lattice model is proposed to improve the stability of traffic flow. Stability condition of the new model is obtained by using linear stability theory. Theoretical analysis result shows that both the difference effect ahead and behind can stabilize the traffic flow effectively. Numerical simulations are also conducted to verify the theoretical analysis result. It is shown that the multi-anticipatory behavior can enhance the stability of traffic jam remarkably, which is consistent with the analytical result.
