  • Abstract
The mobility needs of the modern society are in a continuous growth. On the other hands, people need comfort, and clean, safe, and cheap transportation conditions. Following this idea, the author presents the final implementation and assessment of "Electrocampus", a "bike-sharing" transportation system realized in the campus of University "Politehnica" of Bucharest. It is based on light electric vehicles, such as bikes, mopeds, and scooters, designed and realized under the supervision of the author, or purchased from the market. The vehicles are parked in special automated docking stations which have recharging facilities based on solar panels. The transportation system is managed by a control centre which has wireless communication with the docking stations. The present paper details this system and analyzes it from a practical point of view.
