Abstract :
This paper develops a design methodology for a trigeneration system that employs renewable energy sources (biomass and solar energy). The structural scheme trigeneration required to cover the demand of a house has been determined according to the amount of energy used by this house. Correlating the demand and the energy production, the power sources are determined in order to minimize heat losses and to maximize the primary energy savings as well as the overall efficiency of the system. According to a structural scheme, the functional trigeneration system that enables to determine the internal consumption of electricity of the power pumps is developed. This methodology is proven through the achievement of a practical system of trigeneration. The system that has been implemented contains a Stirling engine, photovoltaic panels for the production of electricity, solar thermal panels and an auxiliary boiler for heat production. In residential areas, in summer, the desired temperature is achieved through the use of an adsorption chiller unit.
