Abstract :
The paper shows how mathematical and circuit-oriented battery models are developed to reflect typical battery usage in electrical vehicles. The relation between mathematical and circuit-oriented battery models is analyzed in the paper. Comparison study is made to investigate the difference and complexity in parameter extraction using the two different modeling approaches. Performance study is conducted to evaluate various factors that may affect the behavior of the two models. Different techniques regarding improving accuracy are compared and new techniques are implemented.
