Abstract :
In the gravure printing machine, the register accuracy is the most important performance. In order to improve the control accuracy of register system, an accurate mathematical model of the register error should be researched. Register error is defined as two dimensional errors: print-direction register error and cross-direction register error. In general, cross-direction register error is stable and small because the lateral jitter of a moving web is very small. Therefore, the mathematical model of the print-direction register error is studied for the four-color gravure printing machine in this paper. According to definition of the register error, the mathematical model is established, and then it is validated by the numerical simulation and experiments carried out in the experimental setup of the four-color gravure printing machine. The results show that the established register error model is accurate and reliable.
