Abstract :
The straightness of heading direction of a strip affects productivity and quality of a product in the steel making process, especially in the Hot Strip Rolling. So far, various approaches have been proposed to solve the abnormal movement of the strip, called Lateral Motion. Numerous asymmetric factors between a pinch roll and a rolling material have caused to lateral motion of the strip. This study aims to present a observer-based Guaranteed Cost Control design algorithm for the linear system subjects to external disturbance and measurement noise. Moreover, the suggested method is designed to use the convex optimization process by linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical simulation.
