Abstract :
In this paper, a general control approach is presented to achieve power-factor correction (PFC) for three-phase boost rectifiers. By considering the three-phase four-wire topology, the three-phase diode rectifier can be decoupled as independent single phase circuits. Thus the design of the controller is simplified by using the single-phase One-Cycle Control (OCC) with the advantages, such as constant switching frequency, no multipliers, and simple circuitry. Moreover, the block diagram of the proposed OCC controller is derived with some key equations. A 6 kW PFC rectifier was built and tied together using the proposed approach. Experiments and simulation have demonstrated the simplicity and the effectiveness of this method.
